Westcoast Freestyle Stunt Team

Adam Chodkowski
Age: 35
Location: Vancouver
Years riding: 7
Years stunting: 6
Bike: 2007 gsx-r 600
Worst injury: nothing major.. smashed myself a few times
Why I stunt: because it's fun, and because it's a great focal point/stress reliever
Favourite trick: no handed sit-down wheelie
Adam was raised in BC and has spent his life on two wheels in any form, from bmx bikes, dirt bikes, to sportbikes. The addition of stunting was a great way to round out his large variety of interests, ranging from chess, to DJ-ing, to sailing. Having performed stunt shows for 6 years now, Adam knows how to keep a crowd entertained, incorporating old-school acros mixed with slow, technically precise tricks and plenty of loud and high speed tricks as well. He serves as the team manager and enjoys performing with his team mates, working with event promoters and chatting with fans.

Matty Augustine
Age: 28
Location: Vancouver
Years Riding: 7
Years Stunting: 4
Bike: 2004 Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja 636
Worst injury: Flipped a stoppie going 70km, got all rashed up and I couldnt walk for a week because the bike crushed my legs. Everything hurt and it was the worst pain I've experienced in my life.
Why I stunt: Its a form of meditation. Its also a good feeling performing for a crowd and people, making them smile and seeing the excitement.
Favourite trick: Highchair circles
Having a love for motorycycles and being an adrenaline junkie from a very young age, sportbike freestyle couldn't have been a better sport for Matty to get involved in. He scraped his first wheelie 4 years ago and hasn't looked back. For Matty, learning to stunt came as naturally as breathing; epic crashes and years of solid practice have paid off, positioning him as one of Canada's top sportbike freestyle riders. Having performed countless shows across both Canada and the USA, Matty plans to continue promoting the sport and to wheelie his motorcycle around the world. Currently Matty is looking forward to turning Las Vegas into his off-season training grounds, practicing amongst other top riders, enabling him to ride year round in the best of conditions while furthering his North American exposure.
Aaron Mervyn
Age: 28
Location: Vancouver
Years riding: 4
Years stunting: 3
Bike: 2009 GSX-R 600
Worst Injury: Road rash down my whole back along with a sprained wrist!
Why I stunt: It's a form of meditation
Favourite Trick: Crippler or any tech tank trick
Aaron has a long history of BMX freestyle, which made the transition into sportbike freestyle very natural. In his short history of riding he has quickly climbed to the top of the ranks in Canada. Aside from his insane riding skills, his fun and friendly disposition along with a solid technical background in bikes make him a great asset to the team! In addition to his solo mastery of the bike, Aaron has also incorporated tandem riding into his routine, adding not only an elevated technical requirement to successfully pulling off tricks, but also a hugely increased risk factor. Expect him to keep pushing the envelope while he tears it up on the gixxer!

Mike Bolognese
Age: 29
Location: Maple Ridge
Years Riding: 7
Years Stunting: 3
Bike: '02 Honda 600 F4i
Worst injury: Broken Collar bone held together by 8 screws and a metal plate, from flipping a high speed stoppie.
Why I Stunt: Lifestyle
Favourite trick: Anything with great style
When you watch Mike ride it’s clear that he loves it, and particularly enjoys it while with friends or performing at events. A true showman, he enjoys being the center of attention and showing off his skills. Growing up in the sticks on dirt bikes, Mike spent years tuning his skills, from being a squid on the back roads to a well known rider in the stunting community. With a passion for anything extreme from snowboarding to scuba diving, Mike has become an exciting member of Westcoast Freestyle.
