With Thanks and Appreciation
There are many people who work hard to make the Vancouver Motorcycle Show fun and exciting. From the people that take your helmet and jacket at the door, to the people that take your tickets (who work all show long and donate their pay to assist in the fine work of the Association of Injured Motorcyclists) to the people that build the wild KTM EnduroX track and the Mini, Café Racer’s Cup and Rat Bike track, and set up the RCMP demo and stunt course, to the flaggers and volunteers who keep everything safe, to the track co-ordinators, there are many club members working very hard out there to make this event a success. We would like to acknowledge and thank them.
Our demonstrations would certainly not be nearly as exciting without our announcers:
For Supermoto, the KTM EnduroX, the Mini Bike Challenge, the Rock ‘N Race, announcer extraordinaire, Mr. Ted Shannon.
For the RCMP police riding demonstrations, Corporal Bryan Fedirchuk
For the Café Racer’s Cup – Mr. Dave Woolley of the British Motorcycle Owners Club
For the Westcoast Freestyle Stunt Team show, so good he is known by only one name – Saturnin
Keeping things running:
In our show office, the indefatigable Caroline Bray and her team, John, Barb, Jen and Denise
Karen Weinstein and her team from the Association of Injured Motorcyclists
Dan Harding and the Gospel Riders Coat Check Volunteers
Motocygalz Jasmin Doobay and Marissa Baecker
Vintage Night Host Tim Stover of the MMIC/COHV
For our Track Features:
Keith Diamond and the Rockets who donate their band fees to the CKNW Orphan’s Fund
Dave Woolley and Wayne Dowler and all the lads at the British Motorcycle Owners Club
Nancy Joyce – Track manager and Pacific Coast Mini Roadracing Club member
Heather Tripp – Track co-ordinator and President of the BC Supermoto Club
Bill Hitchon – Track Builder and owner of 5th Gear
Jane and Jim Yaschuk – EnduroX co-ordinator and Fraser Valley Dirt Riders Members
Shelley Petrovich and The Fraser Valley Dirt Riders track Volunteers
Judy Van Leeuwen, Mark Gray and The DualSport BC Club track Volunteers
Tom Timmerman, Ray Keller of West Coast Weld, and the DualSport and Greater Vancouver Motorcycle Club teams – EnduroX’s wildest obstacle builders
And let’s not forget, for the Yamaha Riding Academy and the Yamaha Scooter School, the incomparable Clinton Smout and his team.
On behalf of the motorcycle show and the MMIC and COHV and myself, we thank you for coming today and hope you have a great time at the show. If you did, please acknowledge all these hard working club members and volunteers with a smile or a thanks, they would really appreciate it. If you have any comments, please let me know. We really want to make a great show for you and your feedback and comments are always important to us.
Nanette Jacques,
Show Manager
