2012 MOTO GUZZI V7 RACER UNLEASHED: OLD SCHOOL COOL INCLUDED
Celebrating its 90th Anniversary, Europe’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer continues to honor the timeless café racer lifestyle with the release of this classic limited-edition machine
Celebrating its 90th Anniversary, Moto Guzzi announced the release of the limited-edition 2012 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer. An ode to café racer motorcycles of years past, the V7 Racer pays homage to old school cool and timeless style from the ‘50s and ‘60s, when achieving “the ton”—hitting 100 mph while zooming from one café to the next—could make any rider a legend.
The new V7 Racer skillfully reinterprets the classic café racer spirit, with a jaw-dropping blend of vintage craftsmanship and modern technology. This limited-edition motorcycle also celebrates the design aesthetic that made Moto Guzzi an icon in the café racer scene nearly 50 years ago.
Shining in a vintage red hue, the V7 Racer’s polished double-cradle frame is an ode to the original Moto Guzzi V7 Sport “Telaio Rosso” (red frame) model. The frame’s color underscores the V7 Racer’s structural beauty and its legendary 90-degree V-twin engine housed inside. Generally ordinary components such as the throttle body guards, silencer mounting brackets and side panels are perhaps the most distinctive features of this motorcycle, as they are hand-crafted in brushed, drilled aluminum.
Further mimicking café racers of days gone by, the V7 Racer features myriad unique style attributes—from a jet black fuel tank studded with red Moto Guzzi badges and finished with a handsome leather strap, to a suede leather seat with an aerodynamic cowl and 1970s-style racer number plates.
